I won't have a chance to touch it until Friday evening. It needs a thorough going over. The previous owner bought it to ride with his wife who divorced him a week after the purchase. I guess the single ride wasn't enough to bridge the gap in their marriage. He said he also has a hybrid he does actually ride occasionally. Tri bike was an odd choice of bike to tool around with the wife on... The guy couldn't figure out how to put air in the tubes before meeting with it so I believe him when he says it wasn't used much. Besides, it still has the original conti ultra race tires on it and I know from experience that those wear pretty quickly and they still look new.
It's still got a dork disk on it. It's way out of tune for shifting and braking. I'll have to flip the stem and make all sorts of adjustments for fit (just look at the saddle to bars drop on the Fuji compared to the QR!).

Oh, I locked in vacation time right away. I just don't want to use it for your benefit. I'll dial it in Friday and then take it out for an easy ride Saturday. Depending on how comfortable it is I may or may not ride it Sunday. Probably not though because we all know that a tri bike around other cyclists means a crash for sure.

The guy also left his little wireless computer thing on with the speed sensor magnet on the front wheel/fork. That's gotta go! Probably ruins all the aero benefits. He was going to include shoes if they were my size (they were not). I have to swap pedals too since they're speedplays. What can I get for a slightly used pair of these:

Without the cleats? Probably not that much, since the cleats are going to run 40 bucks. They're also the older style - Zero and Light Action seems to be much more common, so there might not be that many buyers for them.

Great minds think alike. Maybe I'll do some time-sharing.

Ride too much, no time for maintenance.

Will the different geometries of these two bikes require different cleat positions or is that going to be pretty standard throughout different bikes?

I walked around a bit and did not want it to count that.

There is going to be a group ride / early packet pickup this Saturday morning for next weekend's duathlon. Should be a perfect chance to test out the new QR.

I've purchase both of my speedplays sets used from ebay. IIRC $20 for a pair of X5 is a steal for the buyer if in good condition. Its been a while but I think $40 is still pretty good from the buyer's perspective. Make sure they are the X5s with the carbon steel spindle. If it is a SS or Ti spindle then those should go higher.
