It doesn't have cork.
There's some of this, or whatever, inside on the valves themselves. But outside the valves, where you hold it, silver plating has wore off. I think it would have to be refinished to be shiny again. Sad.

When Greg Lemond won SI Sportsman of the Year in 1989 some sports writer couldn't understand why he was picked over Joe Montana. He said something like "Even I can ride a bicycle up a goddamn mountain".
Some other writer said "Even I could toss a little pass to Jerry Rice if the line protected me".

Actually, there is one 12-volt battery in my car to operate things like the door locks and accessory power. The real battery is a 800-volt system.
But, I don't know how that stuff works. I just drive it and leave the rest of that stuff to the Big Johns of the world. I'd just f it up if I tried to wrench anything on today's cars.

I just can’t put a bike away too dirty. Mine get hosed off with a gentle, low-volume spray on sweaty or muddy days. However, I just changed the cassette on the R3 and thought I was going to have to use a torch and a hammer to free it up. I wonder how much of that was sweat and how much rinse.

I worked on my two main rides this afternoon. I put a rack and a bar end mirror on the Trek 930 and cleaned the threads and put blue loctite on the nds of the cartridge bb of the Paramount. I was surprised to see rack/fender brazeons on that bike. They had to be special ordered by the op. If that bike could talk, I would love to hear what it has to say.

Veloshine for the win. I do ride in rain and snow, so sometimes I do have to bust out the hose.

Back when we had winter-ish weather I didn't even clean my bike for months sometimes.

Ebay keeps getting stranger. Recently, I've been receiving offers on items that I put on my 'Watch List', generally within a day or so. Usually, I don't respond, because the offers aren't THAT great anyway.
Now, Ebay is sending me messages that the offers have expired, and what am I going to do about that, anyway?
Same thing I did about the offer - Nothing.

Mackinac Island update:
A little cloudy, the cannon seems to be fending off intruders from St. Ignace.
