Rode the antique today since it accommodates fenders and all U can say is Steel is Real - Heavy (and not to mention, slow). And to think I used to ride this on double centuries and endurance rides. Yeesh

About 20 miles. It was mid 60s and the snow is mostly gone until the next storm on Thursday. The crushed stone trails are still either icy or total slop but the concrete parts and bikeways were all clear.

Had my first ride of any distance in a month today. Had issues with my knee and in Dec, got it scoped and cleaned, but kept having nagging minor pain. I decided to just rest it for a month, only thing I really did is walk the dog every day. Did a couple of short test rides on the trainer during the week on some flat routes between 5 and 10 miles just test it, felt ok after and did not have any real issues a couple of days after. Went out for 35 on the road today, had some fairly hefty winds out of the northeast, so I made sure to not press it to hard and shifted down to some rather light gears when needed. Really felt great to get back out on the road and the knee feels pretty good, no pain , so hoping it stays that way.

50.77 miles, 4,388 feet of climbing. originally planned a slightly longer and climbier loop but when i got to the end of the second big climb, i turned it into an out-and-back.
absolutely perfect cycling weather though. light breeze, clear skies, high 50s, plenty of shade if needed.

meandering, coastal 37-spot. temps reads upper 60's but with a cloudless day and über-low wind, felt more like 71-72 degrees. perfect way to end february.
