Well, you can see how sturdy the braze-on is. THAT'S not gonna flex.

Saturday was National Train Day and not one post from LesterOfPuppets. Too busy watching baseball. Sad.

You are correct.
My 2020 Domane has the R7000 FD and has that same screw. You only screw it in until it touches the seat tube, and it is to stabilize the FD during shifting. My Domane did not have the little plate on the seat tube, and the screw was not in enough to tighten anything. The plate is only needed on CF frames, and is to keep the screw from damaging the frame.
I ended up adding the plate the screwing the screw in as designed. On the other hand, Trek did not believe it was required apparently. My guess is that you will be fine without it.

Mrs. GeneJockey, who is an intermediate social needs introvert, has long been really good on the phone. We used to joke she could talk for 10 minutes to a wrong number. As she puts it, "I give good phone."

I wouldn't worry about it. Like I said, Trek doesn't worry about it on their carbon bikes it seems. My FD shifted pretty good, but I was just looking for that last little bit of "click," but I also tinker with stuff and when I saw it was missing I figured I could spend $3 for the missing part.

I was monitoring BP back in October/November. I started out trying to get each morning's check in before my first swig of coffee, which meant I was starting a minute or two after sitting down, and the results were higher than I'd like, both BP and HR. I started testing a second time 5 minutes later and both BP and HR were lower. Then I decided to test the effect of coffee, and checked at 0, 20 minutes, and 60 minutes after drinking a big cup of strong black coffee. About 3 bpm higher HR, and no change in BP. I still get the increased alertness and defogging of the mind.

And nobody's gonna be home for another 4+ hours. Now I'm gonna worry about Porch Pirates for the rest of the day!!!

It's almost noon and the new espresso machine still isn't here. Between set-up and warm-up, I'm probably looking at 90 minutes between delivery and first shot. I don't usually like to drink espresso after 2pm or so, but I sure as hell ain't dialing in and getting to know a new machine while groggy at 6am tomorrow morning, so I'll just have to HTFU and take one (or two or three) for the team.

Pfffft.
I mean, I suppose that I could do a French press in the morning, but that's no fun and it takes longer than I'd like.

Still don't have my hands on it but, in the last half hour, I've seen the freight carrier stop on my block for more than five minutes, leave, and then drive by an additional three times.

Wondering why Rapha’s website charged me $0.40 in sales tax. At 8% in the city it seems like it should have been $4.40.
