At this point, it's probably a coin flip as to whether or not I'll bring the bike. Between the questionable fitness and the two night DC layover eating in to the W'burg stay, hauling it along might be more trouble than it's worth. I'm in a wait-and-see mode, for both my fitness and the W'burg forecast.
the cervelo is yours while you stay if you can’t bring your bike. Just bring some kit and shoes and garmin. you can use my varia.
edit: Also, I don’t want you to feel like you can only ride it if you are with me. It’s yours to use as you like while you are here.

Does it really matter what Mrs. GJ thinks? Will she leave you over it? Will your world come crashing down around you?
You've been working hard for the past 40 years to support Mrs. GJ and the family, all for likely little to no thanks and a lot of expectation. Time to treat yourself right and reward yourself for all of that hard work and sacrifice for the others.
Just tell her that I said it is the right thing for you to do at the right time. All will be good.

A couple of years ago, we went to a store to get a pair of shoes. I saw the Domane in my size and the color I wanted, so I showed it to her. I told her that I planned to buy it if I ever found one, and would just hope she wouldn't get mad. Her response was, "Why would I get mad? If you like it get it!"

Ordered a Playmaker MVP+ for about half the cost of the comparable TheraGun. It's coming with 7 heads including one that is heated. Hopefully it arrives soon. I have some issues I need to address.

Are we sure that we can lower the saddle enough for me, though? With all that seat post you've got showing, it might hit the BB before it's short enough for me.

Just did some fake miles. Since that's the only time I have a power meter, I have noticed something and it's probably "normal" but let me know....
I estimate my FTP to be somewhere around 170W. I can toodle along indefinitely/easy at up to 140-ish W. But if I burn some matches and go near/above my FTP, even if just for say 20-30 seconds, I find it MUCH harder to drop back and maintain 140W like before the match was burnt. I feel like my cruise power goes from 140ish down to say 120ish.
Is that normal?

Had you eaten? It’s not something I normally experience with 20-30 seconds of effort

Yeah I had breakfast like normal. I suspect this effect is normal for me, as I noticed it before. But unclear if it’s typical.
