Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

I absolutely love this bike. Good job - looks all business and mean as hell.

Brofist for 2011 Racer.

I put track drops on mine, but ended up going back to the stock flat bar. Haven't gone over to FG on it yet, the hub is soooooooo whisper-quiet! Probably this summer I will go full-on FG with it. That Hi-Ten is horrendously heavy, but I love how it rides.

Mine is the blue nishiki in the back. Went out for a ride with my brother yesterday.

My bike is still a work inprogress. Wanna do a custom shorter fork and more aggressive bars/stem setup but this is it for now. I really enjoy riding it

You just dodged a bullet OP, had you said the bike in front is yours, you would've had a very, very, bad day here.

You are right but I might leave it as it is. I converted it to sigle speed, had to order a custom 27'' single speed wheel. I just finished this bike the other day

It looks really good, you should leave it as is. Changing to a 650C fork/wheel throws off the whole geometry of the bike and serves literally no purpose on a bike not designed for it.
