Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

And I own a lot of bikes - steel, aluminum, magnesium, and carbon.

If you are an avid cyclist, rec cyclist, or racer, it is far more fun to ride a stiff, comfortable, light bicycle. It responds quicker, it corners better, it accelerates faster, it does everything as good if not better than the others. It's the kind of stuff that puts a smile on your face and you realize why riding a bike is so fun. If you've never experienced it, you can't discount it. You don't know what it's like, and if you did, you would think it was fun.
My lightest bike is my 20 lb. Paramount. It is also my favorite ride.

But I have no idea how much the individual parts weigh, and I don't care when riding.

Very hot. Those are the way to go, especially here. A full blown coach is nice, but then your limited to rv parks and such.

Bailey's would be lighter. They're 7" center hip to the bottom (CH to B)

I agree. I've never gone the WW route, mainly because it was always hard to justify it, knowing it could all turn to crap in a crit. But riding nice stuff is nice, and pro level frame sets are pretty OK. Getting the straight scoop from Ben Day on my TT bike was awesome, since that's what he spent a lot of time on when he was with United Health Care.

It's good. It never left over in Europe, and actually can be had with a coal burner in it. I think Ford made a pretty big mistake cutting it off here, but I'm a bit biased.
