Niner MCR 9 RDO Full Suspension Gravel Bike
I guess Niner intends to produce this thing.
April 11 was the "official launch" and the typical sources are quoting Niner as claiming late 2019 product availability.

Yum. Was out last weekend, and the dirt/formerly-mud roads were willed with tractor ruts. Problem being the ruts were compacted hard, but the res of the road wasn't. So the options were either a somewhat bumpy ride or a slower slog and sink into the road. This would be great out here.

Sweet. Overkill, but sweet.

Ahh I see they put frame protectant in the same place I put mine on my Stigmata so the top of fork doesn't scratch anything. If the frame price is right I might sell my frame for that one. Although I just bought a FS XC bike.
I assume the front triangle geometry is suspension corrected for the Fox AX?

I would love to see how it works with washboard roads. But if it doesn't conquer washboards . . . I don't see the point. 22 pounds is 5 more pounds than I want my gravel bike to weigh.

That pic looks like Laguna Seca (Sea Otter). I will check it out tomorrow.

Ya, you are right. Throw the 50/34 in the trash and put on ...like 46/34 or 44/32
OMG...50mm tires!
23 pounds.. I don't think so.
A whopping 40mm of travel in the rear and 50mm front.

For a fully sprung bike rated for CX drops at a minimum...that is rather "light" or at least on-par. Honestly, any lighter and I'd be worried about breaking the damn thing on off-road.

I'm just waiting for Salsa or Surly to release a drop bar bike with 4in tires.
Their marketing campaign: "Let's be clear - this ain't a fat bike with drop bars." -wink wink, nudge. nudge.

Trying to come up with a QBP joke about long delayed releases and recalls....but they're already implied.

and on your first ride, the fork breaks, you are stuck in the snow, in the middle of nowhere, with no cell reception, running out of food, then the wolfs came

The parts spec and geometry make it obvious it's not just a drop-bar mtb/XC bike. I have a drop-bar mtb and there are a lot of compromises in the set-up that aren't present on the MCR - namely stem length and crankset/fd/shifter compatibility with geometry/fit issues as well. Although I suspect the MCR would have toe-overlap, at least for my foot size and position.
I think it's a fun bike that shows a lot of design intelligence but there aren't many courses I'd think it would be good for here. Often I want a front fork but almost never want for rear suspension - especially on flat gravel. I hope I see one at an event, I think it's pretty cool and seeing one in person would be neat.
Wonder if they can get someone to win Dirty Kanza with one? Although I guess that's actually not too much of a boon to popularity if the Slate is any indication.
