I was just headed to the "Catch of the Day" thread, but I'll put it here instead.
Lazy, poking around the classified this morning and found this 1989 Bridgestone RB-2. Looked like a garage queen, so I went out and did it.
Still shiny under a load of grime. Has the original barely worn Bridgestone tires on it and the tool bag was full of tools and almost $2.50 in change - no coin newer than 1992.
The seller's wife had picked it from an estate sale, and I'm guessing from the original owner.

With the exception of the bar wrap, this came to me very complete and original. It's the second of two Turbos that I've owned, both now gone.
My son brought over a 1964 Varsity that he picked up last week for $10. Other than the dire need for solidified lube being replaced, it is nearly pristine and entirely original except for cable clamps for some reason.

I didn't realize until I took these high rez photos and viewed them on my 4k TV set that this bike has the original Shimano brake pads. I'm pretty sure it's all original except for the seat. I changed the inner chain ring so I could make it up my driveway after a ride without dismounting. When I saw the original seat bag I knew I had to buy it.

All of these bikes are way nicer condition than the usual stuff I come across. Do you all live in places where people buy expensive bicycles just 'cause they like the way they look in the garage? :-) I'm jealous #HateYouAll

Lots and lots of people bought a bike, rode it twice, and then decided they'd rather smoke a pack of Newports and kill a case.
Think about how many pristine Bowflexes are just sitting out there waiting for a second chance.

Purchased locally from the original owner who had stories of riding it all over New England.

Found in my LBS - was a trade-in - unknown history, but looked lightly used. For some reason the kid working that night took my $50 offer.

As found...seat was ripped so replaced with Schwinn seat, and tires are non-original, but otherwise original. And it was free (found on my street in the trash)...
