On today’s ride, one of my friends showed up in a brand new Gabba jersey. I noted it and my other friend was unaware of the power of Gabba. I tried to explain but don’t think he got it. I then said “Gabba Gabba Hey!” And they both looked at me like I was nuts. I tried to explain the Ramones to them but that was also fail.
My work is cut out for me.
My work is cut out for me.
Sad.

It looks a lot like the seat mast caps that Trek has been using for a while (though they've moved away from them on some of their newer, high-end offerings).

As much as I feel that I don't want or need the benefits of a smart trainer, I'm tempted just because I'd like to go wheel-off, rather than buy a rear wheel/wheelset to use primarily on the trainer.

I have a 2 year old KICKR Snap and it’s behaved ok for me. I don’t ride many fake miles and put out low watts so I don’t think I stress the unit much. The only annoying thing I noticed is the clamping force on the back has gotten weaker so now if I stand up and honk hard on the hoods the rear, uh, snaps a bit as it moves from the force. Maybe that’s why they named it snap?

You will save approx $300 for a comparable wheel on smart trainer. Tough call but as above I have been pleased with mine. I think the more you use it and/or harder you ride, it may make sense to get the direct drive model rather than wheel on. Read DCR reviews to help you choose.

Turned into an all day rain. Just as well as I've got plenty of woodworking to do. Odd thing though is that me doing the exact same thing as shown in the videos takes ten times as long. And isn't nearly so neat. I made my first ever dovetail halflap today. Quickly followed by my second. The third has turned into a pita. Twisted grain.
