I spent some time in Keflavik Iceland when I was in the Navy....the 24 hr clock was mandatory item you needed to have if you planned to be anywhere at the correct time.

As a PSA I took out my venerable can of white marking paint and marked pot holes on some heavily bike traveled routes. Got a nice thank you from a rider who stopped to chat. Mileage today? Who cares.

In Seattle, I would need one of those Dept of transportation line painting trucks for the amount of paint I'd need! Actually, reporting potholes to the city site does sometimes work quickly. But if there's a series, they sometimes only get one or two leaving more north/south or east/west of where I reported.

17 miles. And I was reminded why absolutely no one else was out on the trail near the river at dusk. If you don’t really bring it, bumpy gravel notwithstanding, you will suffer death by horsefly. They move pretty fast! I ended up doing a pretty fast ride (for that route). I suppose it helps to have the place to yourself.

I broke from my solo routine and joined a short and slow (15) meetup group ride with the goal to enjoy texmex and beverages. Was a nice change of pace

68 miles with some bridge loops equaling 2k ft of climbing. Weather was absolutely lovely this morning, cloudy, actually very mile temps, high 70's, low 80's, mild humidity, and NO WIND.....let me repeat that NO WIND.....

80.2 miles, but only 3,900 feet of elevation. no massive climbs. 5.8% average assistance from the creo, used 17.8% of the battery. didn't have much mojo for the last 1.5 hours, first hour was actually among my strongest.

First metric century on a folding bike today. Still hot (34 degrees) but at least the humidity was a bit lower than it has been recently.

When I belonged to a fast paced group called CATS (Cascade Animal Training Series) we would ride 20 miles out to lunch at a pace around 20-23 MPH. Experienced people knew to limit their food intake before hitting the hills afterward. The restaurant we stopped at had BIG meals and amazing cinnamon rolls. The newbies would go for a big lunch or late breakfast. We would then hit the hills at the same level of effort as before breakfast. The newbies would then get in the hills and their stomachs would then let them know they shouldn’t have eaten so much by either emptying themselves on the side of the road or feeling pretty upset. It was an initiation ritual and right of passage. Most of us learned over eating the hard way, myself included.
