Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I used this same excuse to not go to the doc about my knee. I lucked out and found that, at least for now, it is only inflammation. On point, I had planned a longer Sunday ride today, but my knees aren't up to it. I will look into a shorter one later on.

We had a fantastic dinner in Philly yesterday. First was the famous Kutztown Donuts ride, then drove to the city, got a couple carry out meals from our favorite hole-in-the-wall Middle Eastern Eatery, then walked around a few interesting neighborhoods. This was followed by our 30th Anniversary dinner at one of the many fine restaurants in Center City. Like a good 50+ couple, we were home by 8PM.

It won’t last, but as of now I am on the podium.

Of course am tops for altitude but that does not count. Sad.

Exciting bike race in France today. No spoilers, but watch the last few Kms if you can.

Went sailing yesterday instead of doing the Seagull Century and it was totally epic, but that doesn’t count either.
