I learned a number of iimportant lessons racing on Zwift, perhaps the most poignant being that 0.4 miles to the finish is NOT 400 yards, so if you start winding up your sprint there, everyone will be really grateful for the leadout. But they won't say "Thank you!"

You could switch to metric, then .4 km would be almost 440 yards

I did the 5th workout in Zwift Academy tonight. Last week, I thought I'd make the workouts less boring by choosing a nice background, since when you're in Erg Mode, it doesn't matter what the gradient is, you still have to put out whatever power, so I figured I'd need pretty scenery to distract me. Turns out I don't look at it. I look at my avatar, the road, and the data window. That's it. The road is important though, because I look for the archway that leads to the recovery segment and aim for it. My mind processes that better than it does a countdown timer.

How long have you been boarding? I've never tried it and the only times I ever skied was XC. I thought that was fun and I would try it again if I lived near snow.
You could live here all your life and never see snow up close. Mrs John saw snow for the first time several years ago when a freak storm came down to about 2000 feet.

Dear Velo Vol,
I'm sorry that I have fussed about you not posting original photos on this forum. I rather selfishly sought to make unreasonable demands on your time.
After giving it more thought, I realized that you are a very busy person, and often can't be bothered with taking and uploading images here. Yet, despite your severe constraints, you somehow manage to find something that perfectly illustrates what you are discussing. I sometimes marvel how you bring multiple media together.
You are one of the best posters on this forum, and I look forward your top-notch posts.
Sincerely,
rjones28

I worked with a guy who skate boarded from childhood and @ age 45 he started having tendinitis in his legs from all the sudden loading of jumping, tricks, etc. He started riding mountain bikes and I went riding with him a couple times and he did fine, even on some tough climbs.

We'll make that one Friday's.
Even though it's still 42 minutes 'til Saturday starts here, here's one for Saturday.
I've only been to Boring, Jackpot, Pie Town, and Woonsocket. I gotta get out more. And this is a terrible map. Catfish Paradise, AZ is not a town.

Nope. Eastern time zone determines what day it is for map of the day, and everything else.

Tear down and rebuild my deck this weekend. 2 CAAD 12 105 Equipped. Or 84 tires. Whatever medium of exchange you prefer.
