I'm finding myself in a quandary. At the moment I don't feel any interest in acquiring another bike. There's nothing that really piques my interest, and I'm already feeling like I have too many bikes. I'm not sure what another one would add, whereas for all the other ones I know what they added. Which leaves me feeling like I have the option of spending a bit of coin on something else bike related. At the extreme end of the scale would be a pair of the Favero Assioma power pedals, because I could swap them from bike to bike and they'd be useful for outdoor training come Spring. Or a nice new wheelset for the Ritchey, because I may NEVER get around to rebuilding wheels on those old hubs. Or upgrading the Bianchi to 11 speed Centaur from 10 speed Veloce - or maybe the Battaglin, but I'd hate to give up those sweet Chorus ergos, and right now it works. Or a new computer rig for Zwifting. Or maybe a used wheel-off Smart trainer.
Decisions, decisions.
Decisions, decisions.

Generally, I just do a plain water shower after riding, rather than soaping up. Just rinse the sweat off. I even have a second bath towel hanging up for that very purpose. It's faster than a full shower!

I had the opposite today. I rode with a small group and got sucked in to saying things that I wish I wouldn’t have. Now, I’m sitting here feeling bad because these guys are old friends but damn, a couple are idiots.

One of the most infuriating things about our current situation is the abandonment of reason and empirical observation as a method for determining truth, in favor of paranoia and wishful thinking. And for what? I guess there's some emotional reward in thinking you are special because you know The Truth They're Trying To Hide, but people aren't even bothering to evaluate the nonsense they're swallowing while rejecting the objectively verifiable. And then they think THEY are the skeptics!!! It's possible we're too stupid collectively to survive.

I suppose this is the upside of being a misanthrope.

I work very hard at keeping my mouth shut but sometimes I fail and then feel bad about it.

You're at the age where if it comes up again, you can simply deny any recollection of having said anything. Your friends probably won't remember it tomorrow anyway.

I had forgotten how much harder it is to ride wearing thermal tights. Felt like riding through sand all day.

5 of us had a nice 50 mile ride today with 2 snack stops. The e-bike couple says they did not turn on their motors at all but there were no big climbs and only 2K feet overall. There were some headwinds but we stayed together for those. I did not hear the motors whining and they later confirmed this.

I was headed to the bike shop to do some bookkeeping, so I took the wheel with me. I had my co-worker loosen it up for me. He does not have wimpy roadie arms and he said it was tough.
