I would personally vote for a big bowl of oatmeal. Don't forget to pre-hydrate in the heat.

Wow, same 3 letters yellow 3 guesses in a row, and I didn't even screw up and put one in the same position twice.

I've never been a big breakfast eater, typically grabbing a Kind breakfast bar on the way out the door. While that works okay on desk days, it doesn't hold me for long on active days, so trying to think of something with more sustenance. I'll usually do a carb meal the night before a longer than normal ride.
Doing a ride on Saturday that starts at 8:00 am when it will already be in the 80s. But, the start is over an hour away, and I'll be leaving my house at about 5:30 to pick up a friend and then drive out. So, I want to eat something that will stay with me for a while. Fortunately, it's a supported ride so there will be chances to reload from time-to-time.
Likely going with the eggs since I'm not a fan of oatmeal.
And, yes, in this heat I always pre-hydrate, and carry a bottle of electrolytes and a bottle of water.
Temp will hit 100, but should be partly cloudy.

What size did you order? They seemed to have most sizes in stock, other than my 45X. I was really tempted to go up or down a half size, but I plopped on my 237s, to really reassess the sizing, and decided against it, as they are juuuuust right.

25 quick miles this morning. Felt great, like 25 miles should feel. I wore my spandex for the first time in ten years or so. Way comfy. It fits a little loose.

Carbs are power but for a long ride, starting with them puts me on the blood sugar roller coaster too early, and then I need so much my stomach, yeah, hurts. Not fun.

When you say that it doesn't hold you over for long, do you mean that you feel hungry or do you mean that you feel like you're running on fumes? Everybody burns a different blend of fuel stores - at the lower intensity of endurance rides, you can train yourself to lean more heavily on fat stores, but this doesn't help you the night before - but you should still have a couple thousand calories on tap, even on an empty stomach. Definitely a good idea to snack and replenish on rides that outstrip those stores, though.

A full fat yogurt, like an 8 oz Noosa, with walnuts and some dried blueberries if fresh aren't available. If I eat this by 9, I am good for a 4+ hour ride with maybe a bar or package of Clif Shot Bloks sometime after 2 hours. But I always carry more than that.

I can ride for 1 1/2 - 2 hours on nothing but coffee first thing in the AM, but it depends on intensity. Similarly, that Noosa with walnuts and berries will run out a lot earlier if I do any serious climbing. But for my standard Sunday routes, even up to 67 miles I can go on the Noosa and 200 Cal at about the 2-3 hour point.
OH! I forgot about the bottles - a total of 240 Cal in drink mix between the two 24 oz bottles. So, that's, what - 440 Cal during the ride on top of the yogurt for breakfast.

The headwind climbing Jay made it a tough 5.5 miles. The sign at the summit for the descent that I climbed said the last 3 miles were 7%. Currently enjoying lunch in a park in a down and out town not far below the border with QC.
25 miles on a rail trail left to go. Have a hotel room waiting for me in St. Albans.
Heh. Just saw my second group of Canadian cyclist. You can get around Jay by going into QC, where it’s flat, then coming back into the US. They probably camp over to do the climb.

Just got word back - they're in transit between facilities and they won't be able to say if they'll be willing to sell them until they hit the next stop in 6-8 weeks. Womp womp.
They said they'd give me another $25 off of a black pair, putting them at $75 for a great, carbon-soled shoe.... but... meh - they just don't do it for me and I'm sure as hell not going to get a black helmet to match 'em.
