I just learned that my sister who collapsed last year on the way home from a big family get together, and was subsequently diagnosed with diabetes and hypertension, as well as some seizure disorder, and who had a bad reaction to Lipitor that cause extreme muscle wasting has now developed rapid onset cataracts. She just can't seem to win for losing. I mean, we always joked that she was accident prone (and lucky her husband became a Personal Injury lawyer), but this is getting ridiculous.
EDIT: And she's trying to communicate with us by texting on a phone, which she can't really see.

That's the million dollar question. I would guess 3 months after surgery. When does that happen? I don't know. I have to get a colonoscopy to see what's wrong with my innards first. Possibly polyps. (The CT scan showed nothing wrong.) Once that's cleared up then the discogram then interview neurosurgeons. The good thing is I can go to local hospitals effective 7/1/22. I hope nothing goes haywire before I get my colonoscopy. I have a virtual appointment with a gastro Doc tomorrow. I had to haggle to see anyone before September. I was in the ER half a day on Sunday. you'd think they'd give me preference and give a slot to me instead of someone who is having a routine colonoscopy. They'd be happy to push it back a month. I'm now 2 pounds under my normal riding weight but my legs are sticks so I'm still too fat for cycling.

Is there a good reason why in a pace line someone might choose to constantly ride on my inside, front wheel is about where my cranks are. I’ve ridden with this particular person quite a bit recently. Whenever he is behind me I find that he eventually sneaks up on my inside. Almost like he is trying to steal the wheel enfront of me, but he never goes for it. I find it disturbing , because if I have to maneuver it only leaves me room to shift into traffic.
Havnt said anything to him yet, just wanted to hear y’all’s thoughts. If there is a good reason then so be it.

I told The Boys that I never pursued a career, but rather I have had a series of jobs which only look like a career in retrospect.

You'd think that somebody with my miles, my age, my bonk record, would eat up/stock up at the last stop before a long stretch of road in the hot sun. Alas. I made it to the edge of town, to the gas station, hoping there was food there. No. So I texted the wife to bring food. She was 15 minutes away at the beach house. With two pieces of pizza in me I was able to stand up, and drive back to the house. I knew that bonk was coming for six km. When it finally came there was no question.

It was 92A when I left the house at 1 PM, and 4 upon arrival. Hot part of the day and no shade. Great ride though.
No sunburn. I use pure zinc oxide when on the bike. Works great. Thursday morning I will ride back home, from a beach town further East. A route I much prefer.

I never thought I would end up a car guy. Took t.v. repair classes in high school and t.v. classes at Sears Training Center during summers. Then came alcohol.

5 of us started at 7:30 and it was nice until the last part of the ride when it crept into the high 90s. My friend who struggled on Saturday was fine today as was the lady who was expecting to suffer. She sniveled a bit but kept pouring water on herself.

Some friends are on a mountain bike trip up north. I like this picture.
