Given the current state of my bike "herd" I shouldn't even be asking but, what are your plans for this one?

Something obscene about the idea of people scraping those above bikes. I get some may well be past saving but I'm betting most aren't.
My 1st post on this thread. Nobody ever gives me the type of goodies we see on here😭.
Until now. 🤗😀👍
Man was cleaning out dad's old stuff.
Yesterday I got a Brooks Pro - no photo and today I got the below...
3TTT bars still have a $119 price tag.
A nice little pile, also cables and chains
Have to ID these shifters as I have zero knowledge of anything except down tube shifters.
105 triple cranks with NOS bb cartridge iirc it's 5500(?)
RSX drive side cranks and FD. Believe FD is NOS. There's a long cage Rd as well.
Unknown model or speeds.

Those shifters are almost certainly 3x7 speed, particularly looking at the RX100/RSX parts there too. Possibly 8 speed. Nice haul!

Stopped by West End bikes since they are moving 1 block south of where they are soon. Mark the owner was there and saw the silver Merz I rode in, said "cool bike", took some pics and said "gotta send this to a couple of people". He has a Merz tandem hanging above the counter and I asked if it was going to be making the move as it's on loan. He said he wasn't sure and said he has several bikes that may need to go, then he says "I have an old Stumpy in the basement that may end up on the scrap heap, you should take it home." We went downstairs, looked at it then I went home and got my car, went back and got.

Yeah, of course I need it like another hole in my head but it's one I would probably never seek out or buy. Free to haul away is a whole different story, I did not hesitate, it will fill in at the far end of my range and being one of the early full suspension ones. The rear Fox shock is purportedly not supported anymore so if it is bad it will just stay that way, we'll see about the Judy fork. This is way too small for me but should clean up well enough to be presentable for show, it seems pretty cool so I'm glad to bring it on.

Been in QA since 1979, when I first got into inspection most of our equipment was Vernier and only a few newer pieces were even dial. I learned to do layout by "blue and scribe it". When that company was bought out and moved I went to a job interview where the Inspection Supervisor asked me to measure something and handed me a 1 inch mic. I hooked it in my little finger and rolled it on my forearm to open it and he said "YOU'RE HIRED!" He told me I was the first candidate out of several that even knew how to hold the mic. I'm getting close to retirement now and most of our stuff is computerized, quite a transition from the "blue and scribe it" days. We still have some old vernier equipment though for very specialized jobs and there are only about 3 of us that can use it! Some of the youngsters we have in QA can' t even read a tape measure! If it isn't digital readout they done't have a clue...... it's a sad day.

Answered posting on Craigslist showing the Peugeot road frame for sale, with ruddy wheels included with it. Went and viewed it, saw it in nice shape and clean, no chips, hacks or rust. Snapped it up. Researched it and learned it's a sleek model from 1986 brochure. Used Campy Victory crankset, and I never saw its Modolo black brakes before. Seller told of odd size seat post it uses. Hoping to build it to original spec as close as possible. Might Shimano group work better on it, like 105 or Veloce? Thoughts welcomed, thanks.

Diamond in the rough..
Uses a ATAX quill seat post / Most likely 26.2 mm ( My slightly earlier white one is )
Yes but calipers are one of those things where pay for what you get can seriously come into play.

'74 "Raliegh" Professional that popped up on Offerup a few weeks ago. Looks to be a Mk IV. Not sure if the misspelling or distance from civilization kept it from selling sooner, but it's mine now. All original with the exception of the Suntour barcons and clinchers. Original NR/AVA tubular rear wheel was also scored.

Love these, one of the coolest C+V examples of all time for me.
I have a bunch of them and cannot explain why none are on the road.

I was lured across town to an estate sale by a pic of a bike closet, complete with jumbly boxes of bike stuff. It turned out to be pretty interesting. Most stuff had been individually priced too high for me, but I picked up the box of random stuff and offered $20. The lady running the sale cracked up, saying "See, I told you somebody would buy that stuff!" to her helpers.
She turned out to be really cool. Apparently, the gentleman who passed away had been a longtime cyclist. His name was Michael O'hara, and I think he might have been BMW mechanic. You could tell he'd grown old on a bike, judging by the mountain bike and recumbent trike that were also for sale.
"He also had a Merz that was beautiful; paperwork from Jim Merz and everything," she continued. She said they had sold it for $1,500 to a woman who runs a bike shop in Portland, so it went to a good home. I think they had already sold it before the estate sale. Too rich for my blood, anyhow. I asked her to email photos of it, and she kindly did so:
Gotta have a shot of that fancy stem!
So, I have his box of cogs and junk, lots of useful bits, a couple of Pro Compe freewheel bodies, a couple of chains. It was fun to dig through, and now it's time to build a custom freewheel!
