Some nice finds. If you end up using that rack make sure you check it over with a fine tooth comb while it may just seem like a bike rack it is a safety item and if it fails it can be fatal to someone behind you.

interesting commet, thanks. i don't have the experience/knowledge to know what to leave and what to take, or what to return. keeping it in the metal pile means it will probably be crunched soon, good for scrap metal only.

You don’t have to respond to everyone who posts in your thread. Just ignore those who aren’t helpful. If they insist on being confrontational just press the red button and report them.

the kona models from late 90's early 00's are very after sought models, take it because easton made Kona frames are of high quality, you can always later upgrade the components like wheels and transmission.

My apologies if you didn't get that I was kidding. The "junk send it to me" is common around here when we see something we like. I say it a lot with food, this is terrible I will eat it for you so you don't have to when the food is extremely delicious.

I realize after Lombard posted that you might not have gotten my post, I was making a joke that you had nice stuff but I was calling it junk so you would send it my way without knowing. The video is from a hilarious show called Trailer Park Boys and because everything was so nice I was joking you were having someone put it on the curb for you as "garbage" and you were taking their garbage"

I assumed you were joking, but also if there is some insight to share that would help me deal with the quality over quantity concern anyone might have deciding to bring free items home that perhaps should be left behind.

I didn’t watch the video clip, though I have heard of the show.

I mean what you have hear is good stuff but don't become a hoarder. If you have to take it and keep it that is not ideal but if you can get rid of it or leave it that is not bad. It is hard to say which items are worth it and which aren't you kind of have to know a bit about bikes.

Stuff like this seems too good to be true, so I have to wonder: could this be a stolen bike that the thieves decided they couldn't conveniently unload and just threw it out?

Someone liked that Trek well enough to align the valve stems and tire labels.

That is quite sad. It is a nice bike with a SLR Frame(Made in the Usa), XT transmission and Bontrager rims, it must be 13-14 inch frame. The SLR6700 is one the very best aluminium frames made by Trek
