Anyone carry multiple tube sizes in case you have the opportunity to help someone?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I ride 26”, 650b, and 700c bikes - switch frequently - so I carry two tubes: 26” tube for 26” and 650b bikes and a 700c tube

also carry a patch kit

the bikes are 7spd thru 11spd - so I carry a number of connecting links

in the past I’ve given tubes to riders that flatted

hopefully I will not need to use them

Aliexpress is great for this IMO! Those 40$ ultra slim and light TPU tubes can be found for less than 5$ there. There are a few brands you can trust. I never tested them on the long run since all of my bikes have tubeless setup, but they certainly are a great backup option as they fit in my jersey pockets and you don't feel them.

It’s a hard no from me. I’ve helped my friends with tubeless plug repairs before, but I’m not carrying a range of different sized tubes for anyone!

when I ride w/ my family I'm sure to have tubes for everyone in our group. I don't carry for strangers I might meet. never know what valve type they need anyway

I do not carry anything specifically for that purpose, but have given strangers my spare tube to get them home. I almost always have patches, a frame pump and a co2 cartridge with me, and have fixed flats for others. I almost always slow down, or stop, to ask if help is needed. I certainly appreciate it when someone does that for me, whether or not I need help.

here is what I have found...if you get a flat or break down 99.9% of bike riders will not even slow down to see if you are covered....but bike riders who post on forums often say they stop and help....

If I see someone already has a tube out and tire levers stuck up in there, then I'll generally continue - it looks like they're covered.
If I see someone who already has a friend or two hanging out, then I'll assume that between them, they have what they need.
If I see someone who's on the side of the road, either on their bike or lightly fiddling with something, I'll ask if they need help.

Usually, I see the first two scenarios, but will definitely slow down long enough to get an answer with the third scenario.

I ride 700c. On brevets I carry a spare 650b tube for the Rene Hearse Users. I had 13 flats in 50 miles on those things.

Some people just don't change their own flats so they are not going to stop and you probably wouldn't want them to. All they carry is their phone.

That's me you're talking about, but I do all my maintenance myself, including changing my tires and repairing flats! Food in left pocket, phone in middle jersey pocket and wheel removal tool in my right pocket. Only exception is during long group rides where I know I'll be farther away than usual from home.
