Ya might be a roadie: excessive attention to detail?
I love Supacaz’s Prizmatik Red bar tape on my Dedacciai, but the visible, white edge of the foam underlayer irks me just enough that I always run a red Sharpie marker around the edges as a finishing touch when wrapping new tape.
I’ve done it twice before, but for some reason, today, it struck me as rather precious and kind of funny, like it might be a Foxworthy-esque indication I’m in too deep; “You might be roadie…if you Sharpie the edges of your bartape.”

Hey, if it helps you achieve what you're after & it's not harming anything, it's all good...
have you tried the paint markers used in the automotive industry? They tend to hold up better from transferring the markings onto other stuff once it's dry.
I tend to expend too much time looking for the "right" wrap & then resort to being frustrated & just getting all black lol.

I actually LIKE the white edges on my black Fizik Microtex tape, because it highlights how evenly overlapped each layer is. But hey, that's MY OCD.

Rode with a guy this morning that had a Parlee and that that same exact tape. He must have done the same thing because I didn’t see any white lines.
