Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Televised? I actually agree with you. I'm an NHL fan from way back, but even those games now have too many ad-dictated stoppages, which last too long, for my liking. I also follow football soccer closely, and I do watch EPL, Champions' League, and La Ligue matches regularly. For the most part, those matches do move along because they are played in 'real time', so to speak. If a game starts at 1 p.m. it will end around 3 p.m.: two 45 minute halves + the interval and stoppage time. No 'commercial breaks.'

I read his autobiography some years ago. Seems humble enough and gives credit to his parents many times.

I heard he was hanging out with like 10 of his friends and the subject of Harley's came up so they went to a dealer and he bought them all motorcycles.

Yeah. I rarely drink beer these days. Wine is a different story altogether.

The Paw Paw Tunnel that is part of the C&O Canal is named after the pawpaw trees that grow along the surrounding ridges.

I ended up missing out on a ride yesterday because I was working on something for work that I wanted to finish, and when I was done it was too late to change, drive to my starting point, and get in a 24 mile ride. I think it's time to switch to primarily indoor midweek rides.

On another topic, I've been scouring Ebay for another Avocet O2 Air 40R, and I thought one came up for sale for a reasonable price, so I bought it. It arrived yesterday. It's actually an O2 Air 40M, which is like the R, but wider at the back and all I can think is "Does this ass make my saddle look big?" It may be slightly softer, too. I'm not sure what to do with it, but maybe it's good for the trainer?

Going to the mountains again tomorrow. This time it should be all road but still climbing the same mountain. Trying to decide if I should bring a camel pak. Using the checkpoint with the hunt wheels.
