Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I've been using Open Pro rims for some time. A couple years ago I needed one and all the shops locally said they were gone and there was no way to get one. Found one buried in a parts room at a store in Pasadena. Last summer I needed another one and I considered switching to something else, maybe DT Swiss, but I saw an ad for a store in Carson City that had them for sale, so I stayed with the Open Pros.

BTW did we ever get confirmation on whether the "K" in Ksyrium is silent?

I have heard it both ways.

This site insists it's silent. But there are others who say you pronounce the K.

I saw on FB that the dorm where I spent my Junior year, in a closet with a window which they called a room, was demolished last year. The post mentions a time capsule from 1929, found during demolition, and I immediately thought,

Hello my baby!
Hello my honey!
Hello my ragtime gal!

I say the K. I've never looked to see if the word means anything but sometimes wonder. I also wonder why they didn't center the badge on the valve stem on my Ksyriums...

...I think it's a clever use of the "V" as both the v in Mavic, and a downward pointing arrow to the stem hole.

I'm taking out one tree this year, so that will leave two. Is that an orchard ? Hard to say. It does turn out a lot of apples, though.

Among other things, the plans for the building, local and campus newspapers, the course catalog from that year (1928). No singing frogs, though.

I went ick-see-ahn. However, that Y could be pronounced like a U, as I just realized. Transliteration is awesome.

So do TPU tubes have less or more rolling resistance than going Tubeless? Asking for a friend.

Further more, how does a tube affect rolling resistance. I am having a hard time believing this.

My Dad, who worked most of his adult life for the largest producer of applesauce in the world*, LOVED apples. He'd eat 2-4 every day, generally getting them from Cold Storage at the plant. When somebody bought the field behind The Ancestral Home, and built houses, spoiling his view of the fields, woods and orchards beyond, he planted several apple trees, heirloom varieties like Cox's Orange Pippin. The trees grew okay, but he never got much fruit off them.

*He is the guy who showed Mr. Rogers how applesauce is made. No, seriously! It was on Mister Rogers Neighborhood, back in the 1980s.

Rhymes with "Friction", so maybe not a good name for a wheelset.
