Avg. MPH on your hybrid?

I think this is an interesting thread. Kudos to those who can stay over 14 mph on a hybrid. I can barely do that on a road bike.

Earlier this “biking year” when just getting reacquainted with my bike, I was running low 12’s. After dropping 30 pounds and getting some miles in, I’m now running around low 14’s. This is on 13-17 mile rides that have a few short hills, otherwise just rolling terrain.

Thanks, Shelbyfv, you're too kind. I have two grocery runs I bike: one goes east and I've plotted an escape route that's not TOO hilly. Unfortunately, if I go west, I have to conquer a few of those hills. Thankfully they are not super long. But, after the first 30 minutes, it's flat. The mildly unfortunate part is having to return the same way, but I got used to it.
Thanks, again, for the kind words

In the spring I was averaging 11.5 mph over a 14 mile relatively flat trail, with one small hill about 0.7 miles long. In looking at my data from past years my average has been 11.4-11.5 on this trail. After riding for several months I now average 12.1 on the same trail. I doubt I will get much faster at age 78.
