Since Billy D monitors close when I get onto this thread, I need to report and issue. On the full site I have to refresh and relog in if I want to respond. I also have to copy, save and refresh. If I even go to a new thread, same if I go to a new thread. I'm going to a new one and will have to refresh and relog in.
Edit: went to new thread in a different topic and had to refresh/relog in when I came back.
Edit: The same again. It's a recent developement. The phone is ok. If I leave the site and come back before a timeout, also no problem. It just happens moving between threads and responding to posts.

Thanks to Datlas’ question in C&V, I have been in a tube patching mode for a couple days. I wiped them all down with acetone, patched them, and then put them in clamps. Six are in clamps atm, and one left, awaiting a free clamp. I will say that C clamps are a more difficult option than the one handed ones. And, wonder of wonders, there were three in that pile that already held air. Ten new tubes ought to last me awhile.
This morning, the new tube in the tire is fine, but the old tube had lost air. Not flat, but almost back to normal size. No idea where the leak is. Next magical trick is holding it underwater, like trying to wash a snake.

I can get a large road bike into the Fit, laying down, with both wheels on, Two, either upright or flat with a wheel off. As far as Mtbs, I can’t say. But it’s a four cylinder, possibly over or under square. You might want to take that into consideration.

The last month or so, I've been idly thinking about getting a bike with 6400, the "Tricolor" groupset that was just before they started calling it Ultegra. Shimano did something similar with it to what they did with Sante, but in darker colors, and not as fancy. I found a Centurion Ironman on FB Marketplace, from about 1989. White with a black "spatter" pattern on the rear triangle. It looks really nice. And he only wants $300 for it. And it's right up in San Francisco.
Then I got the 23" Circuit frame and fork back, and built it up. And now I have too many bikes for the space again. I have 4 hanging on the wall, and 5 lined up on the floor, and the only place to put the 10th one is over in the "Pain Cave" area. So, no. I will NOT be getting an 11th bike!

They were low before I started, since I haven't ridden the Ritchey IRL in months, but holding at least 20 lbs. Sunday morning, the rear is totally dead flat. So I took a different bike. Last night I got around to fixing it. Nothing I could feel inside the tire, and when I pumped up the old tube, it held air, and I couldn't feel any leaks, using the "air rushing past my face" trick. I replaced the tube with a new one, and pumped the old tube up till it was way oversized and hung it up overnight.
This morning, the new tube in the tire is fine, but the old tube had lost air. Not flat, but almost back to normal size. No idea where the leak is. Next magical trick is holding it underwater, like trying to wash a snake.

Somewhat of a bust here. Started clouding up a bit about 45 minutes before the start. Then thick clouds moved in about 6 min. before totality.

I took the MTB out for a forty minute test ride in the heat of the day. I had a blast. And I realized that a camelback is essential.
