New (to me) Bike Day...and I thought I was too old

At 55 years old I thought I had missed my chance at true love. Turns out I was wrong...

At 55, you’ve got that “old man strength!” Ride fast, don’t die, and have fun…that’s all you gotta do! Congrats!

Yeah, not sure I can use that term love for anything other than humans. But I get your point. I thought I was having the time of my life riding old vintage bikes. But when I got my brand new Tarmac in 2020 at 62 yo, I found what so far is the most fun bike to ride that I've ever had.

Can't wait to see what the next bike is like. However so far the wife still says no! Hope that this isn't your last bike either. And glad you went with color. Bikes and cars should have color. The grays, blacks, whites and other blah tones are somewhat boring.

Try stretching and core strengthening. I'm much older than you and that setup induces no fear in me.

Or not. I'm 72, use drops and aero bars happily for many hours per ride, and have never stretched or done core work. I always wonder why people think those exercises are necessary. Maybe if you don't ride more than once in a while (and/or your bike doesn't fit right), they help. Can't hurt to stretch and work out, though, as long as you don't overdo it.

I wouldn’t worry about facing that predicament for a while.

IDK ... anything that elicits a chuckle is pretty helpful....

Furguron, Congratulations! 55 may seem old, but you've probably got some decades left for riding your new bike.

Red - I love it.
