Rattocampionissimo
I picked this 3-speed Huffy out of the trash.
I've wanted to build some sort of rat bike for years and this was the chance. I also love the old boardtrack racers of the early 1900s so decided to take it in that direction. Pretty much a budget build here with the main expenses being the springer fork, the tires and the seat. Other expenses were the vintage stem, new pedals, headlights, and the stainless water bottle.

The handlebars were re-used. Just flipped over and a few inches cut off each end.
I wanted to keep the handlebars clutter-free and not have to run any cables. So I moved the shifter to the seat stay. Not quite as easy as it looks because this has a push-pull mechanism with a hard wire cable. It had a proprietary housing with molded-in ends. So I split the housing and ran it inside a piece of stainless steel tubing.

A tribute to the Los Angeles Motordrome in Playa del Rey. A banked wood track that closed in 1913.
Hub shiners made from an old belt.
I made graphics out of some automotive vinyl wrap and the Ratto stickers with the inkjet printer. Rattocampionissimo is roughly translated from Italian to Rat Champion Supreme

It looks amazing, how did you paint it?
Also, how does that seat feel? Is is very springy?
My bike is all black and I would love to paint it but I have no DIY skills. I have researched plastidip and the whole process seems easier.
