Road Kit On Hybrids
What do you wear when you ride your hybrid?
I just switched a few weeks ago from riding a road bike to riding my new Trek Verve and I am riding the same distances, usually about 20 miles a day. The technical clothes work the same regardless of the bike. But still, I feel strange riding my hybrid with my roadie kit on.
I'm going to look for something that works but looks more like regular shorts, but I am not sure what to look for.

polo shirt, MTB shorts over cycling shorts
looser fitting cycling / exercise clothing
dress for a nature hike, but instead go ride your bike

Endura Humvee MTB shorts are a option - with padded liner or without / over regular bike shorts
there are other similar shorts …
lightweight nylon shorts (or similar material) over bike shorts are another option

You'll be spending much less time in the saddle so you may not need padded shorts. Just be careful whatever you wear doesn't snag on the saddle unexpectedly.

I am big fan of button-up short sleeved fly fishing shirts from Columbia or Orvis. They are airy, keep you cool, and allow for lots of movement. They have lots of pockets and they dry quickly. I wear MTB baggies and when you get off the bike, you just look pretty normal.

I've been thinking of trying the fishing shirts but long sleeved for sun protection. Clothing doesn't wick here so long sleeved bike jerseys are just hot and wet. Maybe some air flow will be cooler.

I have a bunch of fishing shirts. UV protection, fast drying, breathable, great idea.

fwiw - on Poshmark you can find legit name brands, in like new condition, for about 1/2 the price of new. for example, Zoic MTB shorts

Cycling for me is very much a come-as-you-are type activity. I don't have special clothing, special shoes, special glasses, etc. I often cycle in Keen sandals (because they're wide) and I use large platform pedals for comfort. My water bottle is literally a bottle of water...usually 16.9 oz size and Kirkland brand...sometimes Sam's Choice from Walmart. If I feel sporty that day, my water bottle is a bottle of Gatorade.

What is wrong with cargo shorts and a shirt? Or jogging pants that zip at the ankle in colder weather.
Never been much of a Cycling Clothing fan.
