How to disassemble SR Suntour xct-mlo fork
Was given a 2013 GT Karakoram 4.0. Fork moves fairly well but starting to squeak and needs service. MLO works.
How do I take apart the MLO side? Lots of videos show the SR Suntour xct with a smooth blue lockout cap. It has a lockring and you have to pry it up evenly
Not sure if this one is also a pry up. The notches look the same on both sides. Wrench fits on the spring/preload side and unscrews fine. It can't fit over the mlo lever. I know they're low end forks but would rather service them.
Thanks for any info you can provide!

they snap in place, and snap out of place... but sometimes they SNAP and need replaced.
SR Suntour part #FEG036-10 fit the one i worked on last year.. it's an upgraded metal lever, available direct from SR or from your local bike shop, i'd figure.
SR has a decent parts department and they were as helpful as they could be.. the fork i worked on said Manitou M2 Race on the outside, but i found that it had SR Guts..... :-O
the CARTRIDGE damper inside was not rebuildable... but they had the SR version available. ;-)
that particular damper in the manitou was a "23".. the replacement ended with a 26.
*your parts may vary*
i've had good luck finding used Rock Shox Reba air forks on Craigslist for a bit more than the Parts to repair that manitou... they go quickly, so diligence is needed.
Sounds like the damper is ok in u=yours, so the lever may be all you need, or if you're careful, may NOT need, eh?
add a drop or three of PB Blaster penetrant to the cap before removing it.... let it soak in for a couple minutes, then prise in three or four locations as you pop it loose...

Thanks! I was thinking it had to pry off but wanted confirmation. Being in Alaska shipping is often a problem -love to go through setting up an order only to get a "Sorry we don't ship there" msg at the end. Our LBS also leaves a lot to be desired
Agreed if I'm careful (and lucky) I shouldn't have to replace any parts.
Thanks again. Really appreciate the info
