Carotid artery aneurysm
Sounds pretty damn horrific, and of course, could be. When you put your fingers to your neck sides, under the chin, you might feel as I do, some lumpy bumpy bits including glands some of which pulse quite heavily. I asume that's where these things are, but it migh be the jugular, I don't know. My bro and pa both got strokes in their late 70s, with neither over exerting themselves to my knowledge. Therer was no warning, or they didn't know what to look for any more than I do. Now, I do plenty at the gym on the bikes, dance and weights which are all fun in their own respective ways. And my other road bikes are too, well used.
Am at this juncture a tad worried. What should a normal neck feel like. to the touch? I am mid 70s and so far, lovin' it!

Talk to your physician about an ultrasound of your neck arteries?

Yeah, I'm down for one because my right eye seems to be failing through glaucoma/extreme short sight. An optical specialist has arranged both this and an MR head scan to rule out those and some other possibilities . I'm going with the flow whist keeping up my gym activities. I never want those to stop, but . . .at least I'll have options before stuff creeps up on me unawares. . .
