Not sure about anything except that I would not trust them. Had a major blow out on old tubulars, years back. From now on, new tubies or no tubies. Clinchers are a bit different but this is what my vintage tubular looked like just after I heard, what I thought was a gun shot. Had this happened on the front wheel, I most likely would have crashed...

Thank you! Early 90’s makes great sense. Just purchased a 1991 bike and it appears to be VERY low miles. And this tire is a great clue. Both tires I believe are original to the bike. This is the front and the rear has a tiny bit of wear.
