NOS Vintage Campagnolo Athena Monoplanar Brake Calipers w/ Box

New, in box Campagnolo Athena monoplanar calipers (Model: BR-22A) from the mid-90s have been waiting decades, patiently for you and to to be bolted onto that incredible build you are piecing together.

Made from lightweight aluminum and weighing in at 356 grams, these are a fine choice for a classic bike build but also great for any other compatible bike too.

The next year, it all changed when Campagnolo introduced dual pivot, which are an entirely different look.

Price: $135 SOLD; CONUS Shipped

These are beautiful!! It's interesting and somewhat sad, to me at least, how these changed over the years. In some ways they seem to have inproved slightly in other they just got cheaper.

I like the more defined 'shoulder' if tou will denoting where the brake pad mounting are atarts but the eventual use a Modolo style through bolt, the shimano style rubber cover brake pads which look really cheapskateish to me.

The original Chorus Monoplanor, with the Cobalto capnut.
