Then danced up on legs he hadn't wasted yet.

Yea, Pogacar is pretty phenomenal at both flat ground and hills. Ganna is less so in hills and he may well have done his best possible time today. But Thomas? Riding that huge gear for 30 km? What happened on the climb didn't surprise me one bit. Whose decision was that?

And tomorrow they ride a stage with no flat at all. Finish on a Cat 1 summit. Some of those big gear folk today may find Pogacar's pace tomorrow a little tough.

Thomas is both a decent TT'er and climber. But he lost 2 minutes. When this Giro is over, an Ineos bookkeeper should calculate what that 2 minutes cost Thomas and the team. Dock whoever made the gearing choices that much from pay or bonuses. (Unless the decision was Thomas's and no one else could override it.)
FFS give them some credit! GT and Ineos are hardly newbies at this. Maybe you should write them a letter explaining how to race a TT properly. Pog won because he’s practically unbeatable right now and a long TT with a big climb is perfect for him.

Everyone can now take a nap until Stage 15. Dull week ahead for the GC.

Awesome

Beautiful stage 12 race. Two guys 120k out, and they make it. Reminded me of Froome in 2018. Totally Epic! I wish Maestri could win a stage now.

God damn Tufts you're on a totally different level. I was shocked along with the Italian's after that first time check. To be within literal spiting distance of Ganna this far in? I mean that was wild.

Incredible to watch Milan win again yesterday with an absolutely dominate display of force, from so far out! After getting caught out in those echelons, being forced to work? Super nice.

Much love to Tratnik's doomed day in the break - he's looking good!

Tiberi, oh I knew it. Very good.

I wonder what the atmosphere is like on the Jayco bus? I was really hoping to see more from Ewan

oh, rule #87...toast. perhaps he can climb back in at some point but sprinters tend to have the most fragile egos. that doesn't bode well for a recovery. he had two years at the absolute top of the pops. climbers climb for years but sprinters, usually (unless you're zabel/petacchi/cipollini/kelly) age very very quickly burning the candle at both ends.

I figured you weren’t a fan when excluding him from a list of sprinters who had a long, competitive career! 😂

Good to see EF get a win, they've been very active nearly every day.
