Super Elliott Information - Two Bikes from Australia

Hi to all,

I am looking for information about these two Super Elliots. I believe they are dated from 1950-1960 somewhere in there. The fine paintwork "feathers" (?) was maybe done by Ray Greenslade. Here are some images.

Lets call this #1

Here is #2

Any input would be appreciated.

Thank you!
Guy

Hi Guy, might be worth trying the bicycles.net.au retro forum if you haven’t already.

Guy, I have no doubt whatsoever that you have Ray Greenslade linework on those. Super Elliott and Ray Greenslade are two bike names in local Adelaide cyling history. Have you any sense of how they came to California, assuming that's where they are now?

Thank you for the links, appreciated! They were both purchased and imported by a friend of mine. Both purchases from different sellers.

Glad to help! Given I live in Adelaide, it's not surprising my first bike as a young lad was a Super Elliott dragster . Pictured is another example of what I believe is Ray Greenslade's work. And, it's not actually a Viscount

Nice paintwork. We think that Australia had the best decorative frame painters in the world, and the best of those were in Adelaide.
And yours are fine examples.
