Just received my Concorde Aquila frame from kansascity and it is just as pictured, but I think in maybe better condition than described. Fantastic frameset and a great forum member to deal with!

Once again, jdawginsc came through with a fantastic package which will help me complete two new racing bikes / holes in the head. Dave is a great guy and an asset to this community!

Bikes: A bunch of old bikes.

I've purchased multiple bikes from forum members and up until my last one they have all gone very well.
On 5/27 I agreed to purchase a bike listed by bikemike73 in the C&V classifieds.
https://www.bikeforums.net/classic-v...t-mid-80s.html
My only condition was that the bike would need to be shipped. bikemike73 moved our discussion to a phone call and there explained that his local bike shop should handle the shipping.
Once the bike shop was contacted, they needed a week to get to the pack and ship job. bikemike73 was convinced that the LBS would do a great job and be worth the $100 packing fee.
I don't know whether or not Marblehead Cycle was also performing work on this bike prior to the sale, but the packing job was a minimum effort. After I received the bike on 6/8 I found some neglect in the headset and bottom bracket, along with a few other condition issues.
bikemike73 asked for and received pictures from when I opened the shipping box. Since then I've not heard his take on the minimum effort packing. The bike was partially dis-assembled and ziptied together, but there was no foam packing, only a little cardboard and paper around the frame. The bike had bounced up and down in the box enough to bend the rear supports on the rear Blackburn rack.

bikemike73 did his part trying to get this shipped, but Marblehead Cycle may not be a good bike shop. It is difficult to find a good bike shop willing to work on C&V bikes, so maybe that is part of the problem here.
I've been debating whether or not to post this here, but decided to go ahead to warn others against using Marblehead Cycle.
