Nervex Part Numbers

Hi folks,

Is there any relationship between Nevex part numbers and manufacturing dates? I recently acquired a vintage English touring frame with Nervex Pro lugs and a Nervex BB shell. In addition to the Nervex stamping, it has what appears to be a part number, 59o3064o22238. The 3rd and 8th digits could be either a superscript “o” or the degree symbol. The 3rd 2 is smaller or subscript. The frame has a “Don Farrell” head badge, but my research couldn’t find any info about dating from the 5404 serial number that is on both the bottom bracket and steering tube.

Thanks in advance,

Cheers,

Van

First question, no. The number stamped into the Nervex BB shell that is referenced above is the part number showing angles, chain stay "socket" diameter and style?. This page from the 1958 Nervex catalog is hard to figure out. The photo below is clearer.

59° 30', 64° 0', 22.2mm, not sure what E38 means but the final A would be for "Angleterre" or inch size bores.

Vintage-Velos sells a reprint of a Nervex catalog--although without dates and I think the text is in French.
