Help me identify vintage Mistral 12 speed
Hi, I'm new here
I found an old vintage "Mistral" 12 speed for my gf recently.
I can't find any info on it online, nor on a brand called Mistral. There's no other branding on the bike so I don't think it's a model name.
BB marked 91120660. Perhaps dated 1991DEC?
12 speed
Shimano SIS indexed stem shifters.
Wheel hub marked "Targione R.O.C."
Light blue with sticker decals Mistral and some 80's/90's colors (purple, yellow, teal)
Brake cables on top of toptube
Dual lever brake levers a la city bikes
Uploaded photos as a pdf.

Definitely not a Holdsworth.
It's a post-bike-boom entry level road bike, probably marketed and sold through big department stores, think JC Penny, Montgomery Wards, Sears, etc.

I'd say it's European, possibly French.
I bought it in Scandinavia and I doubt it came here from the US. Could it be french?. I know Holdsworth and and MBK among others made models called Mistral. No know name on this one except the Mistral decals, which look cheap so I buy it being an entry level roadie.

The R.O.C. on the hub probably indicates Taiwanese production.

I'm in Austria and there are a ton of Mistral bikes here and I believe Puch made them. The Austrian version of Craigslist is willhaben.net and there are pages of bikes if you search the word Mistral but none match your bike but most seem to be branded as Puch and only the mtb bikes are MISTRAL brand.

I’m thinking contract build for a big box store not in North America. Better than the stuff we got in K Mart, Sears and JC Penney, but pretty low level, but decently made with the low level components that are different than we would have seen.
12 speed sticker and head tube stickers are... stickers. Announcing 12 speed is a clue, as is the brakes and derailleurs.
However, fluted seatpost, non cottered crank says to me somewhere else where Huffy, Murray and Free Spirit were not sold!
