I hope you have a great time! You're tougher than me, for sure. You have 35k of climb next week.
The rider I spoke to about this has done the Colorado about 9 times, and said she just loved doing it. Always had a great time, but it is a challenge.
Enjoy!

Well, the ride organizers cancelled the event, so I wasn't driving 6 hours, round trip, on the chance the road was clear.

And that's tempting. I'll have to see if our schedules will work out.

Yeah, the snow thing is just not right.
I've signed up for the Tour de Wyoming, and it has 10,000 ft. of climb on a 47 mile route on one day. I'm nervous about it having never done any climbing of that sort. This is Botto's kind of climb!
Hey, Botto, loan me your quads for a day?
I've heard the tour of Colorado is similar, and that they often get hail and snow during the ride which takes place in July.
Ain't right. Just ain't right.
Don't be disappointed; just time to find another ride. Good luck.

Sorry to hear the event was cancelled. We climbed the pass on Monday June 16th and it was fantastic. Great View! We rode from the High River Inn ~60 to the pass, then it was 40Km of +81 km/h down hill. What a blast! The road was clear and there was only snow in the ditches.
The trip was great. We rode from Ribbon Creek Kananaskis to Bragg Creek on day 1 (~90km). Day 2 was Bragg Creek to Tuner Valley, Black Diamond, LongView to the High River Inn (93km). Day 3 was the High Wood Inn to Highwood Pass and back to Ribbon Creek (103km).
I just got home last night. The climbs weren't hard, and a cyclist of moderate fitness and ability can do it. My legs were spent on the last day, however after 3 days of climbing for this flat lander, it's no surprise. I would do this ride again for sure!
I have some pictures for you.

Thanks, I'll post more pictures, however I'll maybe start my own thread related to the entire ride.
You'll not be disapointed!

Fabulous pictures ViperZ, the Highwood Pass is a fabulous ride.
BTW: I'm glad to see you back on BF. I missed your ride reports, pictures and compulsive high end bike schwag purchases.

Hey TJ, Thanks! Have you ridden that ride? You and I have to hook up for some riding in your area. I would much rather have the hills and climbs than the constant head wind we get
My compulsive Bike swag spending has shifted to other hobbies in my life, but I do sill enjoy window shopping
With out a doubt!
