October 8, 2022 Vintage Populaire in Lieu of 3rd Saturday Ride
Just a reminder to the club, we are not riding in October in deference to the Davis Bike Club Vintage Populaire on Saturday, October 8th. Our hope is that we have a lot of our members at this ride. Here is a link to the DBC Randonneuring page with information regarding the ride. 108 kilometers and only a little climbing in the middle. Starts and ends in Davis, CA.

Vintage Populaire and November Rides
Great day with the Davis Bike Club on October 8th! The 4th Annual Vintage Populaire was blessed by great weather and excellent company. I saw a number of Camellia City club members on the ride and recruited a few more.
We will be back for our regularly scheduled ride on the third Saturday in November AND we will post a Turkey burner ride for the Friday after Thanksgiving, as well.

It seems to me that it would be beneficial to the group if there was a sticky thread to announce upcoming C & V rides for particular areas. I know that many of us don't hear about rides even if they are local to us until after the fact. Admins......?

The admins have the regional rides categories but nobody looks at them
I noticed that there are fare more visits to the C&V subcategories than the regional rides section. Since our focus is C&V rides, it made more sense to post here.

I guess your suggestion is to make a sticky in the C&V forum for C&V regional rides. I think that is is a good idea.

We are on for November 19th at 9 a.m. in Sacramento
Ride start is the Starbucks parking lot in Gold River off of Sunrise Blvd. Plenty of parking if you are driving in.

I will be biking up from East Sacramento on the American River Bike Trail. I leave from the Guy West Bridge at Sacramento State promptly at 8 a.m. if you want to join me there and bike to the ride start.
We are back to the original, rather than modified, route now that the construction at Ambassador Drive is done. Here is a link to the Ride with GPS file.https://ridewithgps.com/routes/40441105
Looking forward to seeing everyone from September and some new faces, too!

I recognize a few faces in these pics. I won't have an appropriate bike for this weeks ride unless 25yo 8 speed brifted Kleins are now considered vintage (jk). Maybe next month!

No worries
If you want to join us, you are more than welcome. None of us are the Eroica police. You can be present and participate from the standpoint of wanting to appreciate the bikes that are there. I think it’s pretty cool that you are keeping a Klein up and running. Lovely bikes.

Fast Old Guy
I'm just about equidistant from this ride, the peninsula ride and the Rose Bowl Ride. One of these days I'm going to have to make a road trip or 3.

Another great ride! Mark your calendars for December
It was crisp! Despite the cold weather, we had a great group of nine who enjoyed a 27 mile ride through the Folsom foothills. Since everybody really cares about the bikes, we had a 1972 Allegro Schweitzermeister, a 1980 Team Raleigh, two mid 80s Bianchi bikes, a Cinelli, a Schwinn Paramount, a Masi, a Miyata and a Baylis built Wizard. All really well cared for. Some real lookers!
Next ride is December 17th. We are pushing the start time to 10 am. Will be Christmas themed and we will stop at Karen’s for lunch and get a group photo in front of the Downtown Folsom Christmas tree.

Maybe next month finally. I've disinvited myself from group rides for a long time due to my bum ticker, but I got a new heart med specific to my condition that so far is amazing. But this was only day three of it, with a cold tailing off and only just thinking maybe I could do actual training. I did go around Lake Natoma today, but at sunset.
Wait, 17th is daddy-daughter dance and we are in the 1130 act. shoot

Turkey Burner Ride this Friday-10 am start
Ride is from Bella Bru Cafe. A flat, easy paced 54 mile ride down into the Sacramento Delta. Doing this as a C&V ride like our monthly rides.
Shooting for a 15 mph average moving speed so nothing crazy. I’ll be the guy on the red Peugeot. Plenty of parking in the strip mall if you drive to the start. As a courtesy to the merchants, park closer to the street and leave the better spots for customers of the businesses in the strip mall.
Ride start/finish: 5038 Fair Oaks Blvd, Carmichael, CA 95608
