Is the single bottle cage a trait of 753 tubing, or of the time period that these were produced?

If Jake can flaunt his excellent 753M (for maybe) then I too can show a bike with no visual clues as to the tubing choice. However, the previous brief owner of this fine Gazelle, a certain H. Stone, claimed the following in his more or less accurate sales pitch:

..for sale is a lovely 61cm ctc Gazelle Reynolds 753 bicycle in gorgeous original condition. Top tube length is 60cm and rear dropout width is 130mm. It has a complete Shimano Dura-Ace groupset except for the seatpost and pedals. The groupset is in almost perfect condition with almost no wear at all. This bike was specially built for its previous owner at Gazelle - he was a team mechanic for several professional teams including PDM and he has kept it in quite exceptional condition.

So if a twitchy, almost noodle like front end pared with a super stiff rear triangle is what 753 generally feels like then I guess Mr. Stone was right.

I am also a Clydes at 220, my LOOK has not collapsed either. Last week I rode my Columbus Genius. It is even thinner than 753 at .7/.4/.7mm and much shorter butted. And it didn't break with me climbing out of the saddle.

CV-6, your Team Pro is absolutely beautiful. What year is it? 753T or R? How much does it weight? Link to more pictures?

Hey Jan... Don't you think the feel is partially a function of the large frame size coupled with the typical tight rear triangle of a Dutch crit bike???

I do believe that Gazelle frame style was generally 753...with the Exception model adding Noblex stainless rear triangle (me wantee)!

No it is only the Look 753 bike. How many cage mount was up to the builder.

Buldogge: Yes, there's more than tubing material going on with that bike. Your suggestions are in line with my thoughts.

I do not need much of an excuse to show pictures of my bike. I never tire of seeing your bikes either Jan.

Frame weighs 1580g with the fixed Campag BB cup installed. The serial puts it ca 1978, do not what flavor of 753, but FWIW. it takes a 27.0mm seat post. Those are the only built up photos I have but if you click Lynn's Addiction in my signature, you will find some bare frame photos.

re: possilbe unmarked 753 frames. About the only way to confirm them as 753 is to weigh them. My frame is 54 c-c. Found on the Bob Jackson web site that they claim a 56 should weigh under 3 lb 5 oz, or just a bit less than my 54 with its fixed cup installed. Search the CR list and you will find several posts where weight is discussed along with identifying an unmarked frame.

I would think you could add a pair of Riv-Nuts to the seat tube.

I know I already showed my Team Pro, but I made this walkaround even before I did the one for the Lejeune Pro. So if you didn't like that one, you won't like this one either.

Still working on others.

Here it is, wind chimes and all...

1987 Team Pro 60cm,

These are not recent pistures, since these were taken, i've installed a Black Brooks Pro, and wrapped the bars black, and replaced the shifters with C-Record Retrofriction levers. I'll take some better pics on Sunday.

My 753 Bikes

1984-85 Holdsworth 753. It has a Campy SR gruppo except for Victory cranks. I wanted a smaller front sprocket than 42T. I'm running 50-38T chainrings.

1985 Raleigh USA Team frame with 1990s USA Team kit. Frame lugged not glued and was built at SBDU in Ilkeston, UK. Gruppo is Suntour Superbe.

1988 Peugeot Chorus with a Chorus gruppo.

1989 Peugeot Chorus 753. I have mint Chorus gruppo to go on this bike too. I like the gaudy colors.

Not a weight weenie, I just like smooth riding bikes in my old age!
