Yesterday: 8.9 miles of commuting on the eBike, then a 17.4 mile ride that started with meeting my wife and stepdaughter for ice cream celebrating her last day of high school.
So 26.3 miles total. Here's a shot looking northeast over Lake Michigan right after sunset:

Legs are a little sore today after consecutive riding days, so I took the eBike into work and home for lunch, then swapped it for my gravel bike coming back to work. Forgot my work badge and wallet at home; had to call a colleague to come let me in. The left crank is hitting the kickstand a bit on the gravel bike now; I'll have to look into that later. Gonna be only about 8 miles today. (recovery day)

I might stop at the grocery store tonight and get a bottle of Willett Pot Still Reserve bourbon from the genie bottle. It's a little spendy at $55/750 mL and a bit too strong for my taste (100 proof), but speaking of taste, it is sublime. What I like about it is that I can put in an ice cube or two, and when it melts, it doesn't taste watered down like 80 proof bourbon sometimes can.

Tomorrow is a full day (Mazda) Miata club ride, but I may join a group on Sunday morning and put in maybe 30-40 on the road bike. I'll take it easy and save my legs for the fast Monday club ride. I need to make up some miles from January and February if I'm gonna hit the 5k goal for this year.

Got a little bit of riding in today...83 miles and 9600' of gain.

The riding hasn't been easy this week, so I was fatigued before I even started...I felt great once I warmed up and probably hit the first difficult climb a little bit hard. Then by mile 30, I was feeling twinges of bonking...luckily I was able to keep my fueling ahead of the bonk and never did fully crap out. Once I got to the top of the big climb of the day(8 miles/2500') I had a couple of options. I really wanted to hang a left and bomb 15 miles downhill on the state highway. However, I stuck to my originally intended route which was another 40 miles and 2500' of climbing. I managed to rally for the last couple of climbs and felt really good towards the end.

This ride also wrapped up a big month of riding for me...in May, I had 63 hours rolling time, 896 miles, and 98,500' climbed.

Got in 35 miles and 1.2 K ft of fakery. Looks to be a nice day for an outside ride tomorrow, planning for 60 to 75 with the winds coming from the east, so the temps should be comfortable. Plan to ride down A1A at the beach and get in some gravel as well.

Beautiful day ;;before the atmospheric river arrives. Did almost 64 miles with 3500’ of climbing. One punchy 10th of a mile climb at 14% which I chose to tackle rather than detour around. I find it to be a good fitness test. Took it easy for most of the ride but also snagged a couple of PRs for fun. The best part is I don’t feel trashed.

Decided to bag the century ride tomorrow with rain in the forecast. Homey don’t play dat. Did a double century in the rain a few years back, and never again.

Pictures of Lake Washington from Kirkland and Bellevue.

42 miles on the MUP Thursday evening, Z2/easy pace.

33 miles this AM with a 30 mile TT.

Set PB’s for 30/40k distances and had more in the tank at the end. Finished strong.

124 miles & I only had 1 near miss from a distracted derp... round abouts are dangerous.

62 today with the front 35 into a 25 mph mostly cross headwind which sucked. I was doing 280 watts to maintain 17 to 18 going south on a pancake flat route. Once I turned to come back, I was doing 125 to 135 watts and doing 21 to 23, toward the end it shifted to a full on cross wind with about 10 miles to go. I was glad when I pulled into the parking lot as I was beat from the front half. The gravel section was really loose today, we have not had any rain in the last 7 or 8 days, so that made for some interesting cornering. The guy I was supposed to ride with bailed due to a sick kid, I just think he caught news on the wind speed and did not want to deal with it. My bike is just covered in dust from the gravel section.

Edit: Something I forgot to mention is I am so glad I did not have any deep section wheels today.. That would have just made it worse, as I was already being blown around with 37 deep wheels.

I repeated the same 30 mile route on the Orbea Terra this morning with much stronger winds and shaved about a minute....

Rode the Armed Forces Cycling Classic Challenge Ride yesterday; got 9 laps in the three hours, for a total of 54 miles.
Definitely farther and faster than my usual routes; but it was a fun, fast course with a lot of really good energy.
