Habits are also the result of what you learn and what you practice. Many people don’t see driving or cycling as something that requires skill.
A lot of people don’t know how to look. They just lock their heads forward.
It’s possible both parties saw an empty parking lot and didn’t see the need to look because they expected no one was there.

I'm terrified every day. it's a weird paradox because we are forced to "let go" from the first drop off at a school, the first bus ride to school, the first car ride with friends, the first time to leave them at college, the first time they borrow your car ...
and all the other times they aren't within your grasp
I've reached a point now where I'm comfortable with their behavior & glad they moved out & living normal healthy adult lives. still a little terrified tho
but I've never loved anything or anyone, as much as I love my kids. I'm a better man for having them. Wifey is a saint
