New Carbon Wheels for My mostly daily rider '09 Tarmac
SuperTeam Classic 50mm CF Wheels on '09 Tarmac
My HED Kermesse wheels on this bike have been absolutely Great ! But they're now approaching 70,000 miles of service and the last 28K miles on their second set of wheel bearings. Only one spoke break in all this time/miles. Repaired by my good friend John Jones (RIP ) and still true as an arrow after 20K miles of use.
I wasn't planing to get CF wheels for any of my rim brake bikes, but now having a New Disc Tarmac, and loving the CF wheels I have on it, I decide to go 'budget' on the new set on this bike.
Superteam Classic 50mm, w/rim tape , 2 spare spokes, and valve extenders (which I'm not needing) - out the door and in my Hands for $350.
"Can't be much of a wheelset..."
1st Ride - yesterday evening, and boy, do I like them! At 1600+ g , they weight just about same as the HED Kermesse. And riding up to about 16-17 mph, they feel very much the same.
But at 19+ mph, they feel 'Lighter', easier to get to speed and maintain that speed! At 23-24 they feel much 'faster', And on downhills they certainly coast faster.
I really wasn't expecting to feel that much difference due to 'Aero', but there it was....
Hope they hold up well, not expecting 80K miles, but if that happens , WOO HOO !

Have a piston that is a little sticky after a lot of the dusty gravel riding I had in May, between the dust and the bike washing, figure this was the cause. I knew SRAM has a nifty little piston press tool, but its not $95 nifty, but I found a chinese knockoff for $35 on Amazon does the same exact thing.

So after messing with the rear wheel brake, realized the caliper and piston are acting fine, I just need to get some rotor spacers for my second wheelset. So I ordered some from Boyd Cycling, they had the lowest price, although in my view still overpriced for what they are, but better than having to faff with the caliper when I change wheelsets. I was up that way about a month ago, if I had known I was going need them, I could have stopped by and saved on shipping. I also picked up a pair of Pirelli P Zero Race Road 32mm (tubed) version rather cheap when the dude that bought them did not pay attention that they were not tubeless and he waited too long and could not return them, so I picked them up pretty cheap. Score for me.

Do you know who made this frame and what year it is from?
Based on the large round downtube, thick straight seatstays, and the seatstay connection, I would have guessed 1998. But the threadless fork makes me guess its from at least a couple years later and from the 2001 or 2002.
I have read about the various builders that made steel Coppi frames thru the years, but never looked into who built Coppi Aluminum frames.

What was your most recent cycling-related purchase?
Mine, today (Wednsday) ... a gift for my husband.
Planet Bike Super Flash Rear Light

And on Monday I got one for me, as well as two tires, and handlebar tape ... getting ready for the season.

48/32 crank, 11/29 cassette
theres nothing wrong with my current early 2000s 10sp Chorus (50/34, 12/25), I just wanted a little bling and to extend the low-end gearing a bit. Given that I don’t upgrade often, this will likely be the last “good” groupset I ever buy. A trio of new gold chains and some new bar tape to follow

Recently I was going thru some back issues (there's no other kind) of Bicycle Times before recycling the stack, and, in a 2013 issue, saw a rear rack with "an additional low mount bar to move weight down and back," Axiom Journey Uni-fit MK3 Cromo, and liked it. The Axiom website showed me that is was available thru my most local bike shop. Ordered it 2 weeks ago and picked it up today.
Will probably mount it on my tourer Novara Ranndonee.

Picked up a 4 pack of TPU tubes on amazon. Well, wife ordered them because they were on my watchlist. Now that they arrived I can decided if I should use them as spares or make the switch to feel the epic weight loss.

Picked up an 11-34 HG-500 10 speed cassette with a couple of new chains. Moving on from the 12-30 I had, so I can climb a little easier. No issues with the GS derailleur handling it. Losing weight would also help the climbing situation. I was considering 11-speed to get 11-34, but this was much cheaper. Now to get a set of wheels, which I do need.

Been happy with them so far. I did pick some of the new versions of the RideNow with the replaceable valve cores and they are pretty nice setup with the little spacer and threaded lock screw. The spacer is nice in that the lock screw does not touch the rim.

Some used short reach bars and bar tape for a bike I built up for my 13yo.
It's a frame I had powder coated 4 years ago for my oldest kid, and it was time to build it up again.
Found the used Specialized short reach bars at the local bike collective.
Bought the bar tape off Amazon- kid chose the color and pattern.
The bar tape is more pink than purple, but she likes it and she wrapped it, so no complaints from me.
Obligatory driveway picture just before a shakedown ride today.

New Saddle
My most recent cycling purchase was a Fizik Vento Argo R1 adaptive saddle. You know? One of the weird 3D printed ones that are all high tech and fancy?
I've been chasing saddle issue for years after some injuries and this one has really saved my bacon.
I'm sure a lot of folks will think they're overpriced and they're right. Being able to ride long distances again though, is more than worth it for me.
Either way if you have difficulty with saddles and get a chance to try one I'd recommend it.
Safe and Happy Riding.

the pair of Zipp Sram S60 wheels for my coppi k14 project has been purchased, those were made by Zipp and were even rarer than the Zipp 60
