It's snowing again. Roads are generally fine but people are driving like absolute jerks.

Do check it out. For a long time, I only rode alone and I enjoyed it. I still enjoy it, but there is a different, fun dynamic riding with others... when you're in the mood for it (I still feel free to skip out to ride alone with my thoughts, sometimes). You should be able to find a group of like-minded people that aren't looking for a hammer ride.
Locally there is a dirt cheap 1996 Cannondale R500 that's been tempting me terribly. It's likely too small, but it's one of the polished aluminum ones that I've always dreamed of.

Since I have idle time, I've begun hand-wringing on tires for the new year.
The new "souplesse" Schwalbe Pro1 that I've been eager to try?
The Conti 5k TL that's regarded as one of the best all-around choices?
Or Vittoria Corsa that promise a sweet ride but haven't seen much print?
I've pretty much decided that I'll buy three of whichever - I've settled in to two rear tires for each front since I've been running tubeless. That'll probably cover my 4-5k miles for the year, too, and there's the rub - commitment to one means that I won't get to try the others til next year!

Bingo ... but ... but ... but ... it’s convenient.

This calls for more birds of prey pictures to fill the void.

I'm itching to get out on a road bike again. I love my old steel, but unfortunately Illinois loves their road salt more. I do wish that I didn't have to worry about rust.
