Dual pivot brake innovation?
Which manufacturer came up with dual-pivot road bike brakes first?

There might have been earlier examples, but the earliest I saw when I was working in bike stores in the '70s was the Altenburger Synchron.

Given that pretty much everything mechanical about bikes was probably invented in the late 1800s and early 1900s, it wouldn't surprise me if there weren't several patents on the idea from that era. Electronic stuff is obviously much more recent, but there were LOTS of good mechanical engineers heavily into bicycle technology before they all switched over to automotive.
