Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

question about cog mount

i recently acquired a rear coaster brake wheel and have no idea what kind of cog goes on it! never seen anything like this. it doesn't want to unscrew at least by hand...

To the best of my knowledge (and without knowing what hub it is) the cog will have three nubs fo fit in, and it is held with a snap ring; what you see is part of the hub and does not unscrew.
Here's an example:

There’s nothing to unscrew. The cog is splined and simply slides on. A snap ring is used to keep it in place.

Holey Spokes, Batman. That looks like a wheel for a lowrider or someone got their first drill press and couldn't stop.

From both of you being screwed to neither of you. Either way, you and the cog are in this together.
