Raleigh USA Prestige
Eureka Bike Kitchen, Eureka CA.
From what I've been able to find online, the white Dia-Compe Alpha-II brakes aren't original. almost everything else looks correct. The ad has the wrong size, it's a 57.
Unfortunately, the shop is only open Wednesday evenings and Sunday afternoons, and is cash-only. It's a co-op, in a small town in Northern California... whaddya gonna do.
If I had 200 bucks to spare, it'd be mine already.

hmmm...not enough details in the gallery of photos to confirm if it's "genuine" , very unlikely that the paint is original. But in any case may be worth a look if it's one of the later contract-built Masi, but could be a "poser" that's worth just what the seller is asking. If it's a competent Italian frame (with middling Shimano gruppo) then $275 might be a decent price.

(Hmm, the "mention" alert didn't fire [shrug], GTSY again TenGrainBread )
Maybe this is all part of the "market correction". I only had a couple of bikes listed the last half of this year, but even inquiries about them all but dried up and blew away a few months ago. I even forgot to re-list them. And yeah, there's been very little that's noteworthy. I might re-list what I have, just to see if there's any Christmas demand.
madpogue Is it just me or has Madison's CL been absolutely slim pickin's the last few months?

He said that the bike was his dad's. It had been in storage since his dad put it away in 1990. He knows nothing other than that.
I know of a DeRosa that had water bottle bosses from 1971. Of the Italians that is the first I had heard of that happening. The earliest I've seen cable guides on an Italian is 1973. This is me we were talking about, I'm sure others know more. Maybe as a custom build, it was an option back then.
I'm full up on Cinellis at the moment, plus the color isn't my thing. Still looks nice to me.

A couple of interesting options just posted in the Phoenix AZ area--looks to be an early-ish Medici Pro Strada and maybe an 1980s FUSO Lux, both for $200. Pics are pretty rough, so these are guesses on my part but they both look like they saw little use and might be all-original in parts:

I've messaged about both but not sure if I can get to PHX to pick up anytime soon, so perhaps someone else will jump in...

Another tall cool one. Overpriced, but it's a first year (apparently) bike in pretty fine shape. Odd that the crank bolt caps would be missing from an otherwise nearly pristine bike. And the kickstand is definitely (eek).

A slingshot is a stem with a Y split, with two clamps for the handlebar. A single integrated bar-stem with a central trianglular structure is a bull-moose.

Been watching this one for a bit. Not a '76, unfortunately. Serial numbers for the 600 series are one of those "exceptions" and the 600 models didn't show up till about 1980 or so. Still, it's a nice early Trek and I'm considering it as a winter commuter. Under $250, though.
"It is likely these frames, SNs beginning with M or N (Models 41x and 61X), were contracted out or were made in a separate Trek facility" - based on what I have read, this seems to be where the fork issue comes from?

Yeah, I suspect it was trek's first bit of contacting work out to Japan. Be good to confirm that by some our in the know Trek folks.

I thought it was another domestic facility/producer a few miles down the road? I need to learn to save/bookmark info when I spend too much time going down the rabbit hole, can't remember where I read this?

Early early Stumpjumper Sport with the lugs in that burnt orange color in Sacramento - $200.
No bullmoose bars but looks like the original stem with updated shifters (RIP classic thumb shifters)
https://sacramento.craigslist.org/bi...692656774.html
Just think, you'd have 10 months to get it cleaned up for orange bike month.

Fugley "Unibrow" fork is later, at least a couple of years after the first "early" ones.
I have 2 like this that are 86 so......
