Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? need a rear tire recommendation for my fixie

hey. so i bought a pair of cheng shin gum-wall tires (700c x 25) for a fairly cheap price and after less than a week...i already have skid patches down to the "meshing". i understand that i'm new to fixies so i'm excessively skidding to get used to the fixed gear, but i'm pretty sure this tire should last longer than this. does anyone have a good recommendation for a rear tire? not some billion-dollar continental tire preferably

New tire always goes to the front, put your front tire to the rear and put the new one on the front.

schwalbe marathons. seriously the most bomb-proof tires ever, especially if yr going to be riding brakeless.

Poor rims. They did not die a quick, painless death.

You've got a front brake, use it.
