Mid 80’s Rossin Record or mid 90’s Pinarello Stelvio?
Which one would be better to pick up? Anyone able to weigh in? Rossin is Columbus tubing, pinarello is dolmen?

Dolmen?? I never heard of such. I always thought all Pinarellos are Columbus.

First google hit on Dolmen tubing brings up this:
"I remember the shop owner telling me to be weary of Stelvios made of Dolmen tubing, which is what U.S. imported Stelvio frames were made of. He regarded it as a far inferior bike to the european Kens tubed Stelvios."

I say Stelvio because Kens tubing is Dedacciai 18MCDV6, some example of pristine Stelvios but those aren't cheap
Pinarello Stelvio Frame Frame , Pinarello Stelvio Frame / 56.5 cm / Dark Blue / Campagnolo gavia mountain , Pinarello Vuelta Frameset 56cm which has ARX tubing is Dedacciai 18MCDV6HT

Both in immaculate shape. Rossin is mid 80’s with super record components. Pinarello is c record headset, record delta brakes, synchro shifters, Chorus derailleurs and modern cockpit and brake levels, maybe skeletonized trp.

Depends on what you want to do with it. If you want to run Ergo brifters, for example, the newer frame would have the right 130mm dropout spacing to run a more modern drivetrain. Whereas if you are a fan of the old Super Record, then the Rossin would fit the bill.
If it was me though, I would choose the one with the prettier colors!

Haha yes true. And I normally favor the more traditional vintage steel rides, and already have an 87 tommasini super prestige set up with a more modernized group so maybe just talked myself into the Rossin. Plus Columbus tubing speaks for itself, I’m just not sure about the pinarello proprietary tubing, and it’s not the kens tubing, it’s labels as dolmen so I’m just unsure where it fits in
