I am not able, at this time to do more than read about those climes ... 6-plus miles at six percent? Good for you.

So, can I assume that you don’t approve of my 52x11 spins while descending Ventoux into Maulàcene last summer? Seriously speaking, though, how is that YOU are THE authority on danger?

I thought that most good bikes could climb most hills just fine with a 39/27? Have you decided that your bike is no longer a good bike? Or is it still a good bike but not one of the majority of good bikes that can climb well?
A crankset like that would be more common on a gravel bike.

I own a few bikes and the only one I can tell you for sure what the gearing is the Gran Prix with 52/42 and 14/24 6s freewheel.
I just shift to different gears when it "feels right" either up or down.

I have one bike with a 48-38-28 triple ..... I assume with a11-XX cassette it would be fine because very few casual riders spin out 50x11 (33 mph on the flats at 90 rpm .... how many can hit 120 rpm on the flats with that? If you can, gear up, sure .... otherwise it is wasted.)
As for yourself Mr. Moisture ... I am not convinced that you ride or even own a bike. In the span of several threads you are both a rank novice and an established expert on everything bike .... so either you are dishonest and/or in need of lithium.
I suggest you take a break until after the winter holiday season ... relax, enjoy, learn about yourself. Maybe come back with a fresh perspective and we will forget how much BS you posted this year and start fresh in 2022?

^^^ If only.... To be fair, Moisty has posted numerous pics of bikes that surely must be his, the fit is so "unusual." As for the 2020 "crop," at least Moisty's not a whining ankle biter who claims to do centuries on a child's bmx bike.
