WV is not flat..
Not super vintage, but still a nice find. 2004 Lemond Reno. I'm not sure they could have gotten many more accessories on it other than panniers. Picked this up at an auction and once I got home there was a $20 bill in the seat pack. A little rebate is never bad. I would have returned it if it was a seller, but the auction is another story.

Specialized Sirrus gets a cleansing, just needs a chain and it will be a stunning as any in the fold. Shimano 105 with tricolor brake calipers.
Pretty good shape still wearing the original tires, not used much by that measure.

Caught in the tram rails ...
... and the owner wanted rid of it. For €50 I took a gamble and picked it up. There are a few scratches and the wheels need truing, but other than that it seems to be OK at first glance. Most of the damage is actually rust from sitting outside.

My first free RockHopper cracked at the bottom bracket.
Then I got a free nearly identical replacement.
I garbage picked a HardRock. Sold it. It came back for free.
Today I picked up this RockHopper for free. I was Trail building and one of the guys said you want a RockHopper? Sure! He knew I liked the old rigid stuff.
I’m debating weather to rebuild to original or maybe go BullMoo$e bars and 8 speed shifting.
A tad smaller than I like. But that’s how they sized it back then.

@mrv nice catch. Please, please fix those cranks; that hurts my soul. In the olden days, before slanted top tubes and dropper posts, it was deemed safer to ride with a lower top tube; smaller bikes are also funner to throw around.

My other RockHopper (a 21in ST / camper/tourer/coffeeneuring) clears a 2.3in tire. So I'm hoping this new-to-me RockHopper clears a 2.3 in as well. Then it'll be my trail bike. Maybe the Bianchi become the camper.

I 'rescued' this a couple of days ago. It was posted on craigslist for cheap. Frame measures 53ctc seat tube and 55ctc top tube.... Thought it was really cool and not something you see everyday, I swapped the 'death fork' with a 1" threaded carbon fork I had in the stash. Had to swap stems as well... aesthetics. My favorite part is the chainstay signature decal.... They are all individual stickers. Best guess mid to late 90's

- I've got a BIANCHI about 2in taller. Double butted / lugged / Taiwan built / circa 1990 - it's a lot like riding a BMX bike, I think. The frame barely clears a 2in tire.
My other RockHopper (a 21in ST / camper/tourer/coffeeneuring) clears a 2.3in tire. So I'm hoping this new-to-me RockHopper clears a 2.3 in as well. Then it'll be my trail bike. Maybe the Bianchi become the camper.

Very cool fillet brazed tandem. Looks like it came with most/all of the bits, too -- including Magura hydraulic brakes! Maxi-car hubs! Oooh! Weird that the fork is drilled and has eyelets for the rack but there are no eyelets on the back. What is the size? We ride a large Davidson fillet brazed tandem from the 1980s -- it is great. If you're missing any tandem specific bits pm me -- there's a chance ! might have something in my stash.

I mentioned this already in my Rossin Find thread, but this is exactly the kind of find that belongs in this thread.
On a ride the other day I spotted this old Cannondale laying on a pile of old wood and aluminum window frames. No one answered when I knocked on the door to inquire about it, so I returned later and left a note. A few hours later the owner contacted me and said the bike wasn’t used anymore and I could take it and wished me a Merry Christmas.
I hurried over and collected it. The old C’dale was super dirty and had obviously spent a long time outdoors, but was equipped with a full Campagnolo Super Record group, except for a Nuovo Record RD. Cinelli bar and stem and Mavic G40 wheelset with Campy Hi-Lo rear hub.
I’m guessing the bike would have been going to the dump, so I’m glad to have been able to save it. The parts will be moved to my Rossin project. The frame is an 1984 (BB serial number), I’ll try to find someone local who wants to build a light townie.

Saved from the dump or maybe from a co-op. An abandoned mountain bike that I got permission to take as no one else was interested. I was originally just interested in the Dia Compe 908 canti brakes as I have two bikes running those now and springs do break on occasion. Then I noticed the Sugino GP130 crankset with rings that may prove useful as I age a bit here and there. And then the FW was practically an unused 14 to 32 Shimano (made in Japan). Fine with me. All cleaned up and overhauled now, awaiting the call of duty. Yup one chain ring bolt is missing - thrown away as it was rounded out and I barely got it off. I also kept the Tange BB then donated the rest of the parts and the f/f.
I put a card like this in the FWs that I stash so I'll know what the cog spread and range is whenever I'm looking for one. Sure glad I'm comfortable with opening, cleaning and relubing these classic FWs. I'm pretty partial to 6sp units.
